When it comes to dinner time it can sometimes be a hassle to figure out what you’re going to cook. I feel like sometimes we have eaten everything that we love and we just sometimes feel like we want to try something new. Instead of going out to eat, I like to reach for my Green Chef box and find out what new recipes they provided me with. The best part about Green Chef if they have done all the shopping for you and even include fully detailed cooking instructions that were so easy my kids were able to follow them.

A little secret I have found works for my family and for other little family members, is when I let them help me cook our meals they are more likely to finish their plates. In most cases, the ones who do help encourage the others to try the dishes making dinner time that much easier for me. I use this secret with as many meals as possible with my family, making each meal a super family friendly style dish.
Although my now 4-year-old is still a little bit too small to help with the bigger cooking responsibilities she is a pro-garlic cutter I tell you! My kids love salmon, so when we found out that we would be making a salmon dish they leaped for joy. The salad was my favorite part of course, but we ate all of the food in one sitting. There may or may have no been a fight over the oven baked potatoes, let’s just say my 11-year-old one and I ended up eating a second serving of salad instead.
For the second dish, we had Italian Meatball and Orzo, which boasted some serious flavor tuning my normal view of spaghetti on its head. This is basically a more fancy spaghetti with very small noodles and kale. While the kids were busy figuring out what kale was I was already digging into my bowl almost half way through my portion. The kids helped with this dish but not so much like the previous dish we enjoyed. The salmon dish was definitely the favorite of these two dishes and I’ve actually remade that dish on my own because they love it so much.
